What Is
GOITA?

GOITA is a traditional game that originated in the Ushitsu area of Noto Peninsula in Japan's Ishikawa Prefecture during the end of the Edo period. Utilizing bamboo pieces similar to those seen in Shogi, GOITA is played by four players (two teams of two players each). Players take turns playing pieces from their hands, competing to score more points for their respective teams.
With a perfect mixture of luck and strategy, GOITA is commonly regarded as a masterpiece among Japanese boardgames and gains great popularity among boardgame fans around the world.

The Noto Goita Preservation Society was founded in the purpose of preserving and promoting GOITA. As the game is now being played across Japan and worldwide, they are in cooperation with Japan Goita Association to manage and standardize the proper rules of GOITA.

*Pokémon GOITA is officially certified by the Japan Goita Association.
